Summary:

We are all very familiar with the well-known constitutional pictures for the most common remedies we use in every day in veterinary practice. Remedies like Pulsatilla, Nux vomica, Sepia and Lycopodium. But some horses just don’t fit any of these remedies which is a problem in treating some conditions like sweet itch or RAO which need constitutional prescribing. So, what other remedy pictures might we see in horses?

This has been a journey of discovery over some 20 years or so leading to newly discovered equine constitutional remedies like Beryllium, Cuprum, Palladium, Platina, Lac equinum, Niccol metallicum and Natrum carbonicum. In addition, the works of Sankaran, Scholten, Norland and Yakir have provided useful guiding pointers, helping in working out the finer details of each of the new equine remedy pictures.

Veterinary CPD: Private Passions

This series started in July 2024, and is extending into the new year, the Faculty of Homeopathy is excited to announce this series of one-hour presentations by leading homeopathic vets on their favourite subjects.

During our lives as homeopathic vets, what is it about our work and experience that really resonates with us and drives our enthusiasm? As befits the individualisation inherent in the homeopathic model, each of us will have a different answer to this question. We put it to five leading homeopathic vets, each with a unique experience and understanding.

We have heard from Nick Thompson, Sue Armstrong & Chris Aukland and we are yet to hear from Tim Couzens and Tom Farrington. These are events of interest of course principally to our veterinary members but they are relevant to anyone with an interest in homeopathy.

Each event is supported by one of our generous sponsors, and there is a 10% discount on all Saltire books for anyone who registers for a session.

Don’t miss out - come along and learn from leaders in our field.
