Do MIBS and NABS affect our homeopathic prescribing?

For decades, Vets have largely been dispensing anti-inflammatory pharmaceuticals that were all developed on the scientific understanding of the Arachidonic acid pathway. From steroids to Aspirin to COX inhibitors and anti-prostaglandins, all were designed to target steps in this one inflammatory pathway.

Veterinary homeopaths have become familiar with how animals on these medications present and have largely been able to distinguish between true chronic disease and drug-induced disease. Whilst many of the pharmaceuticals do have cross-over with the other inflammatory pathways that have been uncovered in recent years, we are now seeing the introduction of new pharmaceuticals specifically targeting steps and receptors involved in these multiple other pathways; enter the MABS, MIBS and NABS.

In human medicine, there are already nearly 60 monoclonal antibodies MABs alone used to treat inflammatory diseases including cancer. This presentation introduces this new world and what this might mean for homeopathic prescribers.
