Dr Philippa Fibert
PhD, MSc, BSc, BEd, FSHom
Philippa was born into a homeopathic family and had the honour of being treated by Dr Margery Blackie throughout her childhood. She studied English and Education at Cambridge University and initially worked as a special needs teacher. She trained as a Homeopath on discovering there was a Homeopathic College at the end of her road, and, startled by the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment for some of her former pupils, amalgamated her two professions.
Trying to understand the evidence issues surrounding homeopathy, she completed a BSc in Homeopathy; an MSc in Research Methodology in Psychology; and a PhD in Public Health, during which she conducted a Case Series and an RCT comparing the effectiveness of treatment by homeopaths with usual care in ADHD. She was a Research Consultant for the Society of Homeopaths, which awarded her a Fellowship acknowledging her outstanding contribution and service to Homeopathy.
She currently holds an Associate Lectureship position at St Mary’s University where she lectures on their Chronic Disease MSc; leads a Research Centre; and conducts research into neurodevelopmental conditions and the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment. She has spoken at numerous national and international conferences on these twin passions.
She has initiated several ongoing Homeopathy research and data collection projects and collaborated with International and UK homeopaths and researchers on multiple peer-reviewed publications. She continues her small homeopathic practice specialising in ADHD to motivate her continued involvement in the not-easy task of developing the evidence base for Homeopathy.
