How do I get from the Airport to the City Centre?
There are taxis which you can take from just outside the Airport and the typical cost is approximately £30-£35.
However, the most cost-efficient way to get into the centre of Edinburgh is via the tram, located just outside the terminal next to the plaza and the 'Edinburgh' sign. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or from a vending machine at the airport or any tram stop.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes from the Airport to the St Andrew Square tram stop in the centre of Edinburgh. From there, Surgeons Quarter is approximately a 16 minute walk. Please see the map below.

Where is the closest parking to Surgeons Quarter?
There is no private parking at Surgeons Quarter. There are metered parking spaces on Roxburgh Place, Richmond Place, and Chambers Street, which are free after 18:30. There is also parking in Nicolson Square beside the Clydesdale Bank for approximately £7 per day.

How early can I register on Thursday 21st November?
The Registration Desk will be open during the following times:
Thursday 21st November – 16:00 – 19:00.
Friday 22nd November – 08:00 – 18:00.
Saturday 23rd November – 08:15 – 18:00.
Sunday 24th November – 08:15 – 14:00.
Are the tea/coffee and lunch break refreshments included for delegates, speakers and exhibitors?
Yes, catering and refreshments are included during the Congress opening times.
Bottles of water will also be available from the cabinet in the main Reception area of the Quincentenary Building, so please help yourself and stay hydrated.
Evening events on Friday and Saturday are ticketed events and tickets must be purchased in advance in order to attend.
Who can I ask if I have any questions during the Congress?
Please use the registration desk in the main Reception area of the Quincentenary Building for all queries during Congress. The Faculty team of Liz, Kerryanne, Alison and Emma will be wearing a red tartan scarf during the event, so please feel free to approach them for assistance.
Is there a dress code for the academic sessions of the Congress?
There is no specific dress code for the academic sessions of the Congress and delegates are free to choose the most appropriate style for attending a meeting of healthcare professionals. Many colleagues will choose to wear business attire or smart/casual.
What is the dress code for Thursday and Friday evenings?
The dress code will be smart/casual for the Welcome Drinks Reception on Thursday evening and the social event on Friday evening (for those who have purchased a ticket to attend).
What is the dress code for the Saturday Evening Gala Dinner?
If you have purchased a ticket to celebrate with us at the Gala Dinner, this is your opportunity to dress to impress, wear your kilt or add a 'touch of tartan' to your formal outfit. It will be an evening packed with sparkles, surprises, and the essence of Scotland. Dress code: Formal / Black tie, please.

Is there a group booking for dinner on Thursday evening after the Welcome Drinks Reception or will everyone do their own thing?
Following the Welcome Drinks Reception, the remainder of the evening will be at your leisure to make your own dining arrangements. A list of suggested restaurants in the area can be provided to assist with your dining plans if required.
Please speak with a member of the Faculty staff or a Members Representative for any assistance with dinner plans. They will be easily recognisable as they will be wearing a red tartan scarf or a thistle buttonhole.
