How did you start your journey in Homeopathy?
As a medical student I was quite negative about homeopathy. The occasion came by chance during a strong toothache unrelieved by conventional therapies; with a homeopathic remedy the pain and swelling had been rapidly relieved. For two years I successfully tried homeopathy for basic health problems with relatives and friends. Understanding that I required an in-depth study of the principles and of the homeopathic method, in 1996 I studied at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, as it was named in those years. It happened to be a life-changing experience. Back home, I used homoepathy with several patients, challenging its effects against the placebo hypothesis. After two years I became convinced of its effectiveness, far beyond the placebo effect, therefore I left the hospital and dedicated myself to homeopathy, acupuncture and integrative medicine in my private practice.
How do you integrate Homeopathy into your Practice?
Conventional medicine is the benchmark. Using homeopathy instead or alongside conventional therapies in chronic cases is feasible in every case where it allows to reduce the use of conventional drugs, reduces relapses, adds effectiveness reducing risks. The use of homeopathy instead or alongside conventional therapy can also be first choice in acutes, provided it allows to act more rapidly, more effectively and with less risks. The safety of the patients is always paramount. In cases where conventional therapies cannot be reduced, homeopathy can offer benefits at the psychological level.
