How did you start your journey in Homeopathy?
As a third-generation homeopath, my legacy of serving the community through homeopathy started with my grandfather Rev Dr K George in 1947, which was then augmented by my father Dr Kuruvilla George (Dr Raju) who established the Raju’s homeopathic super speciality hospital in India in 1974. As a result, I grew up witnessing the miraculous cures that homeopathy can offer to society. In fact, I did not aspire to follow any other profession than Homeopathy; and all the medical studies and skills I subsequently achieved were to hone my expertise in patient care with a primary focus on homeopathy.
How do you integrate Homeopathy into your Practice?
Integrative medicine has created a congruent and advantageous system which aims to maximise the benefits of using different medical systems to assist patients and minimize iatrogenic complications, in order to improve the quality of life.
From my perspective, Homeopathy is a mainstream medical system and integrating modern medicine's knowledge, skills, and interventions in patients will ensure improved clinical results which are safe, swift and cost-effective in nature.
Furthermore, I happen to find this approach to be more relevant in the cases of chronic, end-stage, palliative, and geriatric patients when compared to treatment through individual medical systems. Every patient's 'prognosis' must be carefully assessed and addressed in an integrative practice to create a customized, beneficial treatment plan. In my experience, adopting different treatment protocols to the Hahnemannian teachings of constitutional medicine will improve the prognosis of patients, thereby lessening their suffering and consequently provide superior care.
